We were kind of bummed after seeing the Nanette Lepore Spring/Summer 2012 collection a few days ago at New York Fashion Week. Not because the collection wasn't good, but because it was so great and we're sad we have to wait almost a year before breaking out the designers fabulous neon frocks.

Nanette Lepore stuck to her usual shapes, which sometimes veers towards conservative, but her use of color was anything but stodgy. The designer should have passed out sunglasses before her runway show began because of the blindingly bright colors. Think colors like "tangerine", "citron, " or "lagoon" which even applied to her shoes! Color often looks amazing on our skin so this is a collection that was made for us.

Bright colors aren't for everyone, but Nanette had some toned down pieces that will work for even the most color shy, like a soft peach suit with a pleated waist that's pretty and approachable.

While we'll soon be unpacking our coats from storage and prepping for the fall, Nanette Lepore's spring 2012 collection will be on the back of our minds until the first warm day in 2012.
